New Delhi: Indian-American Dr Vivek Lall, Chief Executive at General Atomics Global Corporation has said that few relationships will shape the 21st century like the India-US relationship. He said that none of the other global relations can even come close enough to the India-US partnership.
Recently Lall had congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for becoming the longest serving PM of India. In a post on social media platform, LinkedIn he wrote, “Congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on becoming India’s longest-serving elected Prime Minister and on helping advance one of the world’s most important democratic partnerships.”
The India-US partnership has been one of the strongest and under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi it has taken a new shape. In the 12 years of PM Modi’s Prime Ministership, the relations between the 2 countries has changed significantly. PM Modi has had the opportunity to interact with 3 US President’s namely Barack Obama, Joe Biden and also the current President Donald Trump.
In June 2023, PM Modi paid a state visit to US. This was a reflection of the elevated India-US ties. It was only the third state visit of President Joe Biden’s presidency, after visits by French President Emmanuel Macron and South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol.
India and US are currently negotiating a trade deal. This even though the tarrif tensions remain between the 2 countries. However given the nature of the relationship, it is expected that US and India would deepen their cooperation in defence, maritime security, and advanced technologies
