Bareilly. In Bareilly, a woman who allegedly married a man posing as an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer and later demanded Rs 40 lakh from him, has been arrested by the police.

Superintendent of Police (South) Anshika Verma said that on the complaint of Abhishek, a resident of Pachomi village, an FIR was registered at Faridpur police station against Sadhna, her father Narendra Pal Singh, brother Surya Pratap and maternal uncle Rajendra Singh, who are residents of Sateti village in Bilsi area of ​​neighboring district Badaun.

According to the complaint, Sadhna and her family allegedly cheated Abhishek by posting fake pictures and videos on social media, presenting Sadhna as an IAS officer. Believing her claims, Abhishek married her.

The complainant alleged that Sadhna’s behavior changed after marriage and he allegedly attempted to strangulate her, threatened her and her family of dire consequences and demanded extortion of Rs 40 lakh.

Verma said that Sadhna was arrested after a search operation. During interrogation, Sadhna reportedly admitted that she had uploaded fake photos and videos on ‘Facebook’ portraying herself as an IAS officer to gain the trust of Abhishek and his family.

The SP said the accused also allegedly confessed that she had threatened her husband and demanded Rs 40 lakh from him and asked him to sell his 20 bighas of agricultural land for the construction of a hospital on a plot owned by him.

According to the officer, Sadhana told the police that she is a BSc graduate and is preparing for government job examinations, while her father is a farmer. Verma said she also admitted that she had attacked her husband during a domestic dispute. Police said that further investigation in the matter is going on.
