In the first ODI match played between India and England, England captain Harry Brook won the toss and decided to bat first. He had first invited Indian cricket team captain Shubhman Gill to bowl. After this, England, batting first, scored 258 runs losing 10 wickets in 47.5 overs. In this match for England, Ben Duckett scored 43 runs, Joe Root scored 76 not out and Liam Dawson scored 68 runs.
After this, India scored 264 runs at the loss of 4 wickets in 45.2 overs and won the match by 6 wickets. With the bat, Shubman Gill scored 80 runs, Washington Sundar scored 52 runs and Akshar Patel scored 57 runs for India. With the ball, Gurnur Brar, Prasidh Krishna took 2-2 wickets, Jasprit Bumrah and Shivam Dubey took 1-1 wicket. Whereas Akshar got maximum 4 wickets.
