Nissan launched the much-awaited Tekton in India on Thursday, July 9, 2026. With this, the company has re-entered the mid-size SUV segment, where it once had a strong presence. The SUV is available in six variants and comes with two engine options.

The six trims available on the Tekton are Visia, Visia+, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna and Tekna+. Clearly, this SUV follows Nissan’s new-age global naming system. It has a starting ex-showroom price of Rs 10.49 lakh. The top-end variant costs Rs 18.59 lakh, ex-showroom. The entry price is the same as that of the Duster whereas the top trim of Tekton is Rs 10,000 cheaper in comparison.

The Tekton is based on the same RGMP platform as the new Duster. Two engine options are available- 1.0L turbocharged petrol (T160) producing 100PS and 166Nm and a 1.3L turbocharged petrol (T280) making 163PS and 280Nm.

The former is only available with a six-speed manual transmission while the latter can be had with a six-speed manual or a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The smaller engine is only available on the lower variants.

Colour availability also differs between variants. A total of 11 colour options are available on the Tekton (6 mono-tones and 5 dual-tones). Finally, interior themes also change with variants. Let’s now take a closer look at Tekton variants.

It is the base variant that has an ex-showroom price of Rs 10.49 lakh. Despite being the entry point to the Tekton lineup, it offers strong value. The overall stance, dimensions and road presence remain the same as those of higher trims. Visia gets automatic LED headlamps with DRLs, body-coloured side mirrors and door handles, LED tail lamps, 17-inch steel wheels and a roof spoiler.

The cabin has a strong focus on space and practicality. It, however, has a basic feature list. The Visia comes with rear parking sensors, rear AC vents, steering wheel with tilt and telescopic adjustments, manual AC, four-speaker Arkamys audio system paired with the 7-inch digital instrument cluster, four power windows with auto up/down and anti-pinch, electrically adjustable ORVMs, driver seat height adjustment, idle start stop and more.

The safety suite is also strong and offers six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, traction control, hill-start assist, tyre pressure monitoring and more. This variant is only available with the T160 engine and the manual transmission.

The Acenta trim has a starting price of Rs 11.79 lakh and goes up to Rs 14.99 lakh. Both engine options are available, with the T280 offered only with the DCT automatic transmission. Acenta can be had in four exterior colour options.

Tekna+ is the absolute top end of the lineup. The fully-loaded trim- the one which offers the maximum number of features. Over the Tekna, it sees the addition of a powered tailgate, 6-way powered front seats, 360-degree camera, 10.1-inch touchscreen with Google integration, over-the-air updates and Maps projection in the driver’s display. The cabin in this case, feels much more premium and luxurious than those on the others.

Most buyers would find the N-Connecta to offer the perfect balance between price and deliverables. In other words, the most value for the money spent. It offers several desirable features like panoramic sunroof, good audio system and large screens, without stretching the budget too much.

People who are specific about getting the maximum number of features can go for the Tekna+. The strength of Visia and Visia+ is that they offer a big car for relatively low prices. The customer indeed has plenty to choose from.
