It’s a high-stakes European showdown at Dallas Stadium, with a coveted place in the 2026 World Cup final up for grabs.

Date: Tuesday, 14th July

Kick-off: 8pm BST

Venue: Dallas Stadium, Texas

France head into the clash with a few minor concerns but no suspensions. Captain Kylian Mbappé has fully recovered from the ankle injury he picked up against Morocco and has resumed full training, confirming his availability to lead the line.

In midfield, Aurélien Tchouaméni continues to manage a groin issue, while Manu Koné is nursing a slight knee problem. Both players remain doubtful but are pushing to be fit in time. In defence, William Saliba and Dayot Upamecano missed weekend training sessions due to back and foot issues respectively. However, both are expected to be fit, lining up alongside Jules Koundé and Lucas Digne in the backline.

With all previous yellow cards wiped clean, Didier Deschamps has nearly a full squad to choose from, barring those undergoing late fitness tests. The French manager is expected to opt for an attacking 4-2-3-1 formation, deploying Michael Olise and Ousmane Dembélé in wide roles to support Mbappé up front.

Spain approach the semi-final with a fully fit squad and no suspensions. Luis de la Fuente’s men reported no new injuries following their quarter-final victory over Belgium.

Nico Williams has completely recovered from the heavy knock sustained earlier in the knockout rounds, though Alex Baena could still be preferred to start. Yeremy Pino has overcome a collarbone sprain, and Victor Muñoz has shaken off a muscular issue, giving Spain valuable depth on the bench.

Spain also benefit from the reset of yellow cards, meaning midfield general Rodri faces no risk of suspension. De la Fuente is expected to mirror France’s 4-2-3-1 setup, with Lamine Yamal and Dani Olmo tasked with unlocking the French defence in Dallas.

France enter the semi-final in outstanding form, boasting a flawless record throughout the 2026 World Cup. Deschamps’ side breezed through Group I, defeating Senegal 3-1, Iraq 3-0, and Norway 4-1. They maintained their defensive dominance in the knockouts, overpowering Sweden 3-0 in the Round of 32, edging Paraguay 1-0, and beating Morocco 2-0 in the quarter-finals.

Spain too remain unbeaten in the tournament, demonstrating a balanced and effective approach. After a goalless draw with Cabo Verde in their opener, La Roja found their rhythm with a 4-0 win over Saudi Arabia and a narrow 1-0 victory against Uruguay.

They carried that momentum into the knockout rounds, dispatching Austria 3-0 and overcoming Portugal 1-0 before sealing their semi-final berth with a thrilling 2-1 win against Belgium.

Predicted line-ups:

France: Mike Maignan; Jules Koundé, Dayot Upamecano, William Saliba, Lucas Digne; Manu Koné, Adrien Rabiot; Ousmane Dembélé, Michael Olise, Désiré Doué; Kylian Mbappé.

Spain: Unai Simón; Pedro Porro, Pau Cubarsí, Aymeric Laporte, Marc Cucurella; Rodri, Fabián Ruiz; Lamine Yamal, Dani Olmo, Alex Baena; Mikel Oyarzabal.
