New Delhi: SEVENTEEN member Dino has opened up about one of the most difficult phases of his career, revealing that he once wanted to leave the K-pop group after struggling with the pressure of being its youngest member.
Appearing on former Wonder Girls member Ahn So Hee’s YouTube channel, Dino spoke candidly about the emotional challenges he faced while growing up in the spotlight and how an honest conversation with his bandmembers ultimately changed everything.
Moving to Seoul at 14 and adjusting to idol lifeDino revealed that he moved to Seoul (Korea) at the age of 14 to pursue his dream of becoming an idol. Looking back on the past 14 years, he admitted that adapting to life with a large group of members was not easy.
He shared that understanding the different personalities within the team took time that living and working together for years came with its own set of challenges.
The pressure that made him want to leave SEVENTEENThe singer recalled reaching a breaking point when he was around 20 years old. As the youngest member of SEVENTEEN, Dino said he felt constant pressure to maintain a hardworking and dependable image while quietly carrying the expectations placed on him.
Unable to suppress his emotions any longer, he gathered the older members and told them that he intended to leave the group.
An honest conversation changed everythingRather than ending his journey with SEVENTEEN, Dino said the emotional conversation became a turning point in the relationship with the members.
Opening up about his feelings allowed the group to have more meaningful discussions, better understand discussions, better understand their bond, helping him overcome one of the toughest moments of his career.
Fans became his biggest source of comfortDino also shared that interacting with fans has given him the greatest sense of comfort and motivation over the years.
He also added that he hopes to continue discovering his own identity as an artist through both SEVENTEEN’s group activities and his solo projects.
