New Delhi. Many people may know Xiaomi for its smartphones, TVs and other electric appliances, but this company also makes cars in its domestic market. Xiaomi’s electric cars have created a lot of buzz in the Chinese market. Now the company has launched the first SUV under its sub-brand SkyNomad.

SkyNomad is a sub-brand of Xiaomi in the world of electric cars, under which the brand has introduced N90. However, Xiaomi had earlier launched SU7 sedan and YU7 SUV, which are driver centric vehicles. Both these vehicles come with Xiaomi branding.

SUV will be longer than 5 meters

Whereas Skynomad N90 is a three-row SUV, which focuses more on practicality and comfort. Xiaomi has unveiled it. This SUV will come with a boxy and upfront design. If reports are to be believed, this car will be 5285 mm long, 1998 mm wide and 1825 mm high. The company has not yet given these details officially.

The car will have a wheelbase of 3080 mm and weigh 2.8 tonnes. The SUV will get LED headlamps, Volvo-like T-shaped DRLs and Skynomad wordmark. LiDAR sensor will be available in the car. It will get 21 inch alloy wheels, body cladding, flap type door handle and large glass area.

Xiaomi has not showcased this car completely. However, according to the information given, it will have a freestanding infotainment touchscreen. Entertainment screen and dual panel sunroof will also be available in the second row. This car will come in multiple seating configuration.

Engine, Power and Seats

Reclining second row will be available in 7 seater variant, which will come with captain seats and ottoman. There is seating space for three people in the third row. The front seats can be rotated 180 degrees to face the rear seats. In the 5 seater version of the car, a coffee table can also be placed between the first and second row.

The Xiaomi SkyNomad N90 is the brand’s first car, which is a range extender EV. However, the company has not revealed its powertrain details. If reports are to be believed, this car will come with a 1.5 liter turbo petrol engine and two electric motors. This engine will work like a generator. The SUV will come with a power of 421 HP and a top speed of 190 kmpl. It can get a 76kWh battery, which will offer a claimed range of 370 kilometers. Whereas the fuel efficiency of 1.5 liter turbo petrol engine will be 15.9 kilometers per liter.
