Chelsea Reopen Talks with Como Over Trevoh Chalobah Sale as Inter Pause Transfer Plans

Serie A giants Inter Milan have been exploring a potential move for Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah, but negotiations are currently on hold.

According to reports, discussions between Como and Inter regarding the English defender have been conducted in a cordial manner. Como, however, have made it clear that they do not intend to trigger a bidding war and have decided to step back quietly from immediate pursuit.

Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla has revealed that Chelsea are now eager to finalise Chalobah’s sale. Inter, having failed in their attempt to sign Anan Khalaili, have shifted their focus towards strengthening the wing-back position and consequently placed the Chalobah deal on standby.

This development has prompted Chelsea to reach out to Como once again to assess whether they would still be interested in moving forward with a transfer. However, Cesc Fabregas’ Como side remain on the sidelines and are now preparing an approach for former Tottenham Hotspur defender Davinson Sanchez instead.

Given the financial realities of Serie A and the way clubs in Italy typically operate, both Inter and Como are expected to seek a reduced transfer fee from Chelsea. This situation could encourage the London club to look for potential buyers within England, especially since Chalobah has already gained Premier League experience through his previous loan spells.
