Premier League sides are reportedly positioning themselves to sign Omar Marmoush, with the Egyptian forward expected to hold crucial talks with Manchester City about his future. After enduring limited playing time at the Etihad Stadium, the 27-year-old attacker has become a target for several clubs looking to enhance their strike force.

Marmoush seeks clarity under Enzo Maresca

According to TEAMtalk, both Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United have shown serious interest in the Egypt international as the summer transfer market intensifies. Despite his limited appearances, Marmoush continues to be one of the more intriguing prospects in the Premier League, maintaining his reputation as a versatile and dynamic forward.

Both Tottenham and Newcastle are eager to strengthen their attacking departments and have reportedly made formal enquiries about the Manchester City player.

However, sources close to Marmoush suggest that before committing to a move, he wishes to understand what role new City manager Enzo Maresca envisions for him. The forward wants clarity on whether he will have a consistent place in the squad or if he should look for opportunities elsewhere.

Limited chances at Manchester City

Marmoush made the switch from Eintracht Frankfurt to Manchester City in January 2025, making an encouraging start to life in England. Nonetheless, under Pep Guardiola, his opportunities gradually diminished. Should Maresca indicate that Marmoush will feature prominently going forward, the Egyptian is believed to be open to staying and competing for his place.

Last season, the forward started only eight Premier League matches, spending much of the campaign among the substitutes. This lack of consistent minutes prompted several clubs to keep an eye on his situation. If it becomes clear that his playing time will remain restricted, his representatives are ready to explore the growing interest from both English and overseas clubs.

Tottenham and Newcastle at the forefront

TEAMtalk reports that Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United have already reached out to City to discuss Marmoush’s availability. Additionally, there is said to be strong interest from a number of Bundesliga sides keen on bringing him back to Germany.

Tottenham are particularly focused on strengthening their attacking options and continue to monitor Marmoush closely, while also maintaining an interest in his Manchester City teammate Savinho.

Newcastle, on the other hand, have added financial flexibility following the £100 million (including add-ons) sale of Sandro Tonali to Spurs. The Magpies are actively pursuing attacking reinforcements after Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa failed to make the desired impact last season. Marmoush’s ability to operate as a striker, second striker, or winger is seen as a major asset by both clubs.

Potential return to the Bundesliga

Before joining Manchester City, Marmoush had impressed during his time at Eintracht Frankfurt, maintaining a strong reputation across Germany. Sources indicate that multiple Bundesliga clubs would be keen to sign him should he become available again this summer.

With his future uncertain and Maresca’s decision expected soon, Tottenham and Newcastle appear ready to act swiftly. Whether Marmoush decides to stay in Manchester to fight for his place or pursue a new challenge in England or abroad, his next move is likely to be one of the final major stories of the current transfer window.
