Trump further alleged that Iran's top leaders have been eliminated during the conflict, stating, "Their best leaders have been killed. They're gone. Khomeini is gone," seemingly referencing the late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was reportedly killed during initial US-Israeli strikes in late February. He then shifted focus to the current Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, claiming he is "90 percent gone," though he did not provide further details. He added that the US would seek reimbursement equivalent to 20 percent of the value of cargo passing through this vital waterway as compensation for ensuring maritime security.
