Tehran. Within the past hour, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) forces have fired on commercial ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. After this incident, tension on this waterway has reached its peak. According to media reports, an Iranian cruise missile and a one-way attack drone were successfully intercepted and shot down in the air by American aircraft. This incident occurred when America and Iran were blaming each other for the attacks on maritime traffic.

US Army’s new attack
Both countries have issued conflicting statements regarding the status and control of the Strait of Hormuz, which is the reason for this increasing tension. Meanwhile, Iran’s state television has reported several explosions near Bandar Abbas, Sirik, Qeshm and Jask. On the other hand, the US Army has also made it clear that it has started a new attack against Iran. Apart from this, the US Central Command said that the main objective of these attacks is to weaken Tehran’s military capability as well as target civilian and commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz. Oman, after receiving information about drone attacks in its territory, took a strong stand and summoned Iran’s ambassador and expressed its protest. The rare diplomatic move came just hours after talks with Iran’s foreign minister in Oman’s capital Muscat regarding navigation and security in the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran made serious allegations against America
Strongly condemning the recent attacks by America, Iran said that these American attacks have made diplomatic efforts going on for months in vain. Also, the Iranian Foreign Ministry has accused the US of again creating an environment of insecurity in Hormuz, disrupting commercial shipping and interfering in the arrangements made by Tehran for the management of the strategic waterway.
