Janashakti Janata Dal (JJD) candidate Veena Manvi has been detained by the police as soon as she filed her nomination from Bihar’s Bankipur assembly seat. He is a candidate from Jan Shakti Janata Dal for Bankipur Assembly by-election. This seat became vacant after the resignation of Nitin Naveen. The entry of Prashant Kishore and Veena Manvi from this seat has increased the political temperature.

Veena Manvi had gone to Patna Collectorate to file nomination. Police action took place shortly after the nomination was completed. Veena Manvi is close to Tej Pratap Yadav and now Tej Pratap’s supporters are angry over his arrest. Tej Pratap Yadav has demanded that such action should not be taken in a democratic country. This is suppression of democracy.

Veena Manvi is considered a social worker of Bihar and a face associated with women’s rights. She works on women’s problems, justice and social awareness through Mahila Vikas Manch. He had claimed that he had conducted the mediation between Bhojpuri superstar and Bihar Legislative Council member Pawan Singh and his wife Jyoti Singh. Veena Manvi is active in Patna.
