The musician told that he saw the situation with his own eyes, smoke spread after the blast

Prime Minister Anutin shared information received from a musician present in the pub at the time of the accident. The musician who was performing in the pub told that he suddenly saw smoke coming out from a ‘circuit breaker’ installed near the stage. Soon after this the entire complex lost power and then there was a massive explosion. Within no time the entire pub was engulfed in black smoke.

Many people were left trapped in the toilet

The magnitude of this accident can be gauged from the fact that people did not even get a chance to get out after the fire. Prime Minister Anutin said that the bodies of many of those killed were recovered from the toilets located at the back of the pub. According to fire department officials, the fire was finally brought under control after a lot of effort.

Heartbreaking video went viral on social media

Video shared online by rescue workers showed massive flames and thick plumes of smoke billowing from the main entrance of Na Ladphrao Pub in northern Bangkok. In the video, people are seen running outside frantically to save their lives, while only black smoke is spread in the sky.

Such big accidents have happened in Thailand before

This is not the first incident of fire in night clubs and pubs in Thailand, even before this the country has faced such painful accidents, 14 people lost their lives due to a sudden fire in a music pub located in the eastern part of the country. More than a decade ago, a massive fire broke out at Santika Nightclub in the Thai capital during New Year celebrations. 66 people died in that accident, while more than 200 people were injured. The fire is believed to have been caused by indoor fireworks display inside the club.
