Ashadh Amavasya 2026 Date: According to Hindu religion, Ashadha month is considered the most special religious month. Like every month, Amavasya is going to come in this month too, but this Amavasya is going to be very special. This year Ashadh Amavasya is going to be celebrated on 14th July 2026.
Due to the coincidence of Tuesday on 14th July, it will be called Bhaumvati Amavasya. According to religious tradition, on the day of Amavasya, offering offerings to ancestors, Pind Daan, charity and worshiping Hanumanji provide relief from the inauspicious effects of Pitra Dosh, Mangal Dosh and other planets. This is the reason why this day is considered very auspicious from spiritual and religious point of view.
Ashadh Amavasya 2026 date
According to Drik Panchang, Ashadh Amavasya Tithi will start on 13th July 2026 at 6:50 PM and end on 14th July 2026 at 3:14 PM. According to Udaya Tithi, Amavasya fast and worship will be performed on 14th July.
Ashadh Amavasya auspicious time
The auspicious time for bathing and donation on this day will be from 4:30 am to 5:32 am. Taking holy bath, offering prayers and donating during this period is considered especially fruitful.
Ashadh Amavasya Puja Method
In the morning, before sunrise, take bath with water mixed with holy river, lake or Ganga water. After this offer Arghya to the Sun God. Mix water, Ganges water, black sesame, milk and Kush in a copper vessel and offer it to the ancestors while facing south. Light a lamp in the home temple and as it coincides with Tuesday, do special worship of Hanuman ji and Mangal Dev. Reciting Hanuman Chalisa or Bajrang Baan is also considered auspicious.
What to donate?
Donation has been given special importance on Amavasya. Donating wheat, rice, sattu, seasonal fruits, black sesame, cotton clothes, umbrella, slippers and water on this day is considered auspicious. Apart from this, donating food in the memory of ancestors is also considered extremely virtuous.

According to religious beliefs, for people who have Pitra Dosh in their horoscope, doing Pind Daan, Tarpan and Anna Daan on this day is considered extremely beneficial. By doing this one receives blessings from the ancestors and happiness and prosperity resides in the family.

According to astrology, the lord of Amavasya is considered to be Shani Dev. Worshiping Lord Hanuman on this day is believed to reduce the effects of Saturn’s Sadesati and Dhaiya. Due to the coincidence of Tuesday, this day is considered especially fruitful for pacifying the inauspicious effects of Mars, Rahu and Ketu. Therefore, special importance has been given to the worship, tarpan and donation done with devotion and rituals.
