The Indian recurve team returned empty handed from the 2026 Archery World Cup Stage 4 in Madrid as Kirti finished fourth in women’s individual recurve on Sunday.
Kirti, who was competing in the bronze medal match, went down 1-7 in a lopsided contest to South Korea’s Oh Yejin to draw curtains on India’s campaign in the tournament.
Earlier in the day, Kirti had also lost out in the mixed recurve team event bronze medal match along with Dhiraj Bommadevara, going down 3-5 to the team from Italy.
Elsewhere in women’s recurve individual, veteran Deepika Kumari had earlier suffered a second round loss while Ankita Bhakat and Kumkum Mohod lost their respective pre-quarterfinal matches.
In men’s recurve individual, Bommadevara was the best performing Indian, crashing out in the quarter-finals.
Neeraj Chauhan made pre-quarters, while veteran Atanu Das lost in the third round and Yashdeep Bhoge crashed out in the opening round.
