Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav interacted with the young tourist friends associated with the Safe Tourist Places Project (STDW) run by Nirbhaya Fund in the Youth-My Pride Conclave-2026 organized at the Brilliant Convention Center, Indore. During this, he discussed in detail the role of girls in the tourism sector, women's safety, self-reliance and employment opportunities. The Chief Minister said that there are more than two crore youth in Madhya Pradesh and the government will celebrate the year 2027 as the year dedicated to youth power. The government will take every necessary step for the overall development and employment of the youth.

Youth My Pride Conclave 2026: Chief Minister appreciated the work of Tourism Sakhis

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav openly praised the work being done by the Tourism Sakhis present in the program. He said that the daughters of the state are playing an inspirational role in the fields of tourism, women safety and social services. Along with tourism professionals, students of State Institute of Hotel Management (SIHM) also participated in this program. During the dialogue, Tourism Sakhis informed the Chief Minister about their services, souvenir making, tourist safety, self-defense training and responsibilities being performed at tourist places.

Omkareshwar Tourism Sakhis: Omkareshwar's daughters became the first story tellers

During the dialogue, tourism friends told that the girls of Omkareshwar have emerged as a new example of women empowerment. As the first 'story teller' of the region, she provides information about the religious, cultural and historical importance of Omkareshwar to the devotees and tourists and helps in the tour.

When needed, these girls also provide easy darshan to disabled and elderly devotees by playing the role of wheelchair caregivers. They are always ready to help female tourists and elderly women. Apart from this, Tourism Sakhis prepare replicas of Ekatm Dham and Statue of Oneness and present them as souvenirs. Due to this, the cultural identity of Omkareshwar is getting a new identity across the country.

Women's Safety: Tourist friends brilliantly demonstrated self-defense skills

During the Youth-My Pride Conclave-2026, Paryatan Sakhis also demonstrated impressive self-defense training. The girls from Ujjain demonstrated their confidence and skills by demonstrating many self-defense techniques including lathi art. The state government is giving self-defense training to about 40 thousand girls of the state. The objective of this training is to make women self-reliant, confident and capable to face every situation.

Whenever needed at tourist places, these trained girls remain active for the safety and assistance of women tourists, devotees, elderly and disabled people. On many occasions he has successfully faced difficult situations with courage and wisdom. Due to their presence, women tourists feel more safe and comfortable.

Safe Tourism Project: Objective of Safe Tourism Project for Women

The Safe Tourist Places for Women Project, run with the support of Nirbhaya Fund of the Government of India and through Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, aims to create a safe environment for women at tourist places. Through this scheme, women are being linked to tourism based employment and self-employment. Besides, a strong network of self-help groups, local communities and trained girls is being created, which is promoting tourism as well as women empowerment.

This project started in Madhya Pradesh is being seen as a model for other states of the country also. This conversation with the Chief Minister shows the increasing participation of girls and their strong role in the tourism sector.

MP Youth 2027: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav made a big announcement for the youth.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the state government will declare the year 2027 as the year dedicated to youth power. He said that there are more than two crore youth in Madhya Pradesh and the government is continuously working for their overall development, skill upgradation and providing new employment opportunities. He said that youth have an important role in nation building and the government will make every possible effort to hone their talent.
