There has been a fierce dispute between the party and the opposition regarding the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project in Telangana. Chief Minister’s party Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has attacked Chief Minister Revanth Reddy regarding the project. The party says that the CM should apologize for his ‘blood on crops’ and ‘belt treatment’ statements. Recently, CM Revanth had given controversial statements regarding BRS.
BRS is pressurizing Revanth Reddy on the issue of providing irrigation water to farmers from Kannepalli Pump House of Kaleshwaram Project during the current drought in the state, despite water being available.
What did CM Revanth Reddy say?
However, replying to BRS, CM Revanth Reddy said that BRS is just politicizing the project without understanding the general issues of it. He said BRS leaders need the ‘belt treatment’ for their lies.
CM’s controversial statement
He also said that if BRS leaders were beheaded, ‘their blood, ego and fat would spread in the fields and farmers could use it for their crops.’ CM Reddy described former ministers KTR and Harish Rao as shameless leaders. Also, both the leaders should jump into the Kaleshwaram project so that the ‘Shani’ of the state is destroyed.
Unconditional apology Revanth Reddy-BRS
Meanwhile, senior BRS leader Harish Rao on Sunday criticized CM Revanth Reddy’s statement on the issue of Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project. He alleged that the Chief Minister’s statements on belt treatment and blood on crops were wrong and demanded an unconditional apology.
In a press conference, Harish Rao accused Revanth Reddy of using abusive language instead of addressing the concerns of farmers regarding irrigation water. He compared the Chief Minister to a ‘freak’. He said that Reddy’s words were not appropriate for a person holding this position.
