Delhi University Admission 2026: Tremendous enthusiasm is being witnessed among students regarding undergraduate admissions at Delhi University for the 2026-27 academic session. A total of 1,90,645 candidates—approximately 1.9 lakh—have registered so far via the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS). Of these, 1,64,098 students (over 1.64 lakh) have also completed the Phase-2 process, which involved subject mapping as well as indicating preferences for colleges and courses.
This year, admissions will be offered across 73 undergraduate programs available in 69 colleges and departments. A total of 71,624 seats will be filled across these courses. Notably, the university is offering around 150 different BA program combinations this time, and the complete seat matrix has already been uploaded to DU's official website.
First Seat Allotment List to be Released on July 16
All eyes are now on July 16, as the first CSAS seat allotment list is scheduled for release on that day. Students who are allotted a seat must accept it and pay the admission fee. Subsequently, students will have two options: they can either 'freeze' their admission—meaning they retain the allotted college and course—or opt for an upgrade in the next round.
Fee Payment Made Easier
To further streamline the admission process, the university has introduced a new virtual wallet system this year. A key feature of this system is that if a student has already paid the fee in the first round and is subsequently upgraded to a different college or course, the amount previously paid will be automatically adjusted. This will spare students the hassle of making repeated fee payments and save time. The university plans to complete two rounds of admissions before the new academic session begins—specifically, by July 28.
