Heavy rains in many states of the country; ‘Red Alert’ issued by Meteorological Department

New Delhi : Currently, the environment is experiencing a drastic change. in many places heavy rain seems to be happening. Due to this heavy rain, disaster has been caused in some parts, and on Thursday, there has been widespread chaos across the country. Floods, landslides and collapse of buildings have caused serious accidents in many states. Record rainfall was recorded in Delhi-NCR as the Meteorological Department issued a red alert, where three people have so far died due to building collapses and several places were inundated.

Along with the southern part of the country, Gujarat is also witnessing the havoc of Monsoon. Thousands of people have been shifted to safer places due to flood-like conditions in Surat and surrounding districts. Nine people have lost their lives so far in the incidents that have been happening for the past few days. In the hilly areas of northern India, flash floods caused extensive damage to infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district, while a landslide near Nalupani in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand, blocked roads and flooded the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers.

Additionally, life has been completely disrupted in several districts of Haryana due to the power outage warning. Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to the Chief Ministers of Kerala, Gujarat and Jammu and Kashmir over phone to take stock of the seriousness of the situation.

Heavy rain warning for many states

Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Meghalaya, Kerala and some other states have been warned of heavy rainfall. Rain with strong winds and lightning has been warned. It is predicted to flow very fast. Therefore, the Meteorological Department has appealed to the citizens to be alert.
