England won the T20I series 4-0 over India after winning by 56 runs in the fifth and final T20I match at the Rose Bowl, Southampton. In the series opener, the match was abandoned due to rain; no result was established, but England were victorious in each of the remaining four matches.
The loss also signalled the conclusion of another underwhelming T20I tour of England for India. Before arriving in England, Shreyas Iyer's team had already suffered a historic 2-0 series defeat to Ireland, meaning they wrapped up the T20Is in the UK without a win in any of their six completed matches.
Buttler and Brook Power England to Massive Total
Having asked to bat first, England's innings was anchored by a magnificent 233-run stand between Jos Buttler and Harry Brook.
Buttler played one of the best T20I innings in England, 131 run wins of 64 balls, while on the other end Brook finished unbeaten with 95 off 45. The partnership resulted in England's Tallest 257/3 sets in opposition to India in T20I.
During their partnership, the duo broke a number of records, leaving the Indian bowlers out of breath for the entire duration. Only two Indian bowlers, Prasidh Krishna and Shivam Dube, managed to scalp wickets.

India's Fight Falls Short
Chasing 258 was always going to be tough, but India showed their intentions with Ishan Kishan (56) and Tilak Varma (53). Sanju Samson scored a quickfire 27 and captain Shreyas Iyer got 28.
But the wickets kept falling at regular intervals, hindering India from forging the partnerships required for the game. For England, Sam Curran was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 3 wickets, while Adil Rashid bagged two wickets and other bowlers (Dawson, Tongue and Archer) chipped in with a wicket each.
India managed to post 201/8, remaining 56 runs short of the target as England won comfortably.
India Turns Attention to ODI Series
The T20 internationals that formed the leg of India's 2026 tour of the UK will be etched in memory as one to be not rooled. Following the series loss in Ireland 2-0, the Men in Blue were dominated by England, who, following the rain-affected first T20, lost 4-0.
India will now look ahead to the three-match ODI series where a host of senior players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah are ready to make a comeback. It will be the responsibility of the three stalwarts to help India salvage some pride and sign off in style at the end of a forgettable T20 series.
