Newly appointed AC Milan manager Ruben Amorim is reportedly considering giving Ardon Jashari another opportunity to prove himself after a difficult debut season at San Siro. As reported by Gazzetta dello Sport, the Portuguese tactician is prepared to extend the benefit of the doubt to the Swiss midfielder, even as clubs from abroad express growing interest in acquiring him.
Milan invested around €34 million to secure Jashari’s services from Club Brugge last summer. Despite attracting attention from several top European sides, the 23-year-old opted to join the Rossoneri. However, his first campaign in Serie A fell short of expectations.
A prolonged injury spell kept Jashari sidelined for the opening months of the 2025/26 season. Once he returned to full fitness, he still struggled to earn a regular spot in Massimiliano Allegri’s starting lineup, managing just 14 league appearances without finding the back of the net.
Nevertheless, his club struggles have not affected his standing with the national team. Jashari started for Switzerland in their narrow World Cup round-of-16 victory against Colombia, helping the team book a thrilling quarter-final clash with Argentina. He has remained a consistent starter for Murat Yakin’s side throughout the tournament, underlining his continued importance at the international level.
Given the competition for places at Milan last season, Jashari’s limited involvement was hardly surprising. With former Ballon d’Or winner Luka Modric commanding a key role and Allegri often favouring his trusted pupil Adrien Rabiot, the Swiss midfielder had few opportunities to make his mark.
However, Amorim’s appointment could signal a turning point for Jashari’s career in Milan. The player has already voiced his determination to stay and fight for his position at San Siro. With Rabiot now strongly linked with a transfer to Napoli, Jashari could finally get the fresh start he needs to justify the club’s faith and hefty investment in him.
