New Delhi: Kia has unofficially started pre-bookings for the Sorento for a token amount of Rs 25,000 as told by sourced to Autocar India. The new model will act as the flagship ICE-powered SUV of Kia India’s portfolio. Sorento is likely to debut later in this month, thought Autocar India reported that it could be a little later.
The report further said that it was going to come with a 1.6-litre strong-hybrid turbo-petrol engine. The same engine in UK-spec makes a combined 238 hp and 380 Nm of torque and is paired with a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Performance figures have been under wraps for now. Depending on the market, Sorento comes as either FWD or an AWD setup.
Dealers have also told Autocar India that the SUV will be coming in a five, six and seven-seater setup. It would then make it the segment’s only three-row seating setup.
Everything we know about the Kia SorentoThe global-spec Kia Sorento measures 4,815mm in length, 1,900mm in width and 1,700mm in height, and has a 2,815mm wheelbase.
