Most people around the world suffer from type 2 diabetes, while very few people have type 1 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes occurs when the pancreas produces too little amount of insulin. Whereas in type 1 diabetes, the pancreas does not produce insulin at all.

    Experts believe that obesity is the main cause of diabetes. People suffering from obesity have a higher risk of diabetes than others. There are many diabetes medicines available in the market which can control blood sugar level. Apart from this, diabetes can also be controlled by following a healthy lifestyle.

    A study published in the Journal of Research in Medical Sciences has found that consuming saffron daily can reduce the blood sugar level of type 2 diabetes patients. To find out this, 54 people were included in the study. They were divided into two groups, in which people of one group were given capsules of saffron extract twice in 7 days for 8 weeks.

    The group of people who were fed saffron capsules for 8 weeks saw a reduction in their blood sugar levels. Researchers said that by consuming saffron, diabetes can be improved by controlling the blood sugar level in the body.

    However, no concrete evidence has emerged to prove that consumption of saffron can reduce the blood sugar level of diabetic patients. Let us tell you that the problem of diabetes has become quite common all over the world. Generally, people above 40 years of age have to face the problem of diabetes, but now due to poor lifestyle, people are becoming victims of diabetes at an early age.
