There's good news for UPI users. Digital payments will become smarter. The Unified Agent Protocol (UAP) is currently under development. Under this protocol, AI agents will easily complete small transactions, from bill payments to other transactions, using UPI with user permission. The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) is developing this protocol in collaboration with major market players. AI agents will ensure secure registration, proper verification, and authenticity of authorized transactions.
What benefits will users get?
A process is being developed to make digital payments smarter. Users will be asked for permission to use artificial intelligence (AI) for financial transactions. Not all transactions will be handled by AI. However, AI will calculate monthly fixed expenses based on history, including tuition fees, fixed bills, and fixed payments. This will not only save you time but also avoid the hassle of late fees. Your credibility in the market will be maintained.
This new process is called the Unified Agent Protocol (UAP). Its purpose is to enable secure and reliable transactions through AI agents. If successful, this unique feature is expected to become a global hit and is likely to help expand UPI usage in other countries.
According to a Business Standard report, the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has been tasked with developing this protocol. Suggestions and objections have been sought from major technology companies and industry experts. The effort is to ensure that the same system works smoothly and effectively across multiple platforms.
In this plan, there will be no major changes to the existing UPI system. The new protocol will work with this payment method. An AI agent will come to assist them. This will make some bills and payments much easier. Of course, the amount of this transaction will not be large. It will not have any adverse impact on the existing digital infrastructure. Actually, it will take a few more days for this method to be implemented. There is no official information about how many days this will take. Some payment apps remind users about mobile network postpaid bills, electricity bills, gas cylinder payments and other transactions. The method of AI transactions will be different from that.
