A significant incident occurred on Friday in Udupi district, where a private school bus overturned, resulting in injuries to eight students. According to police reports, one of the injured students is in critical condition.
The accident took place near the Kodange Temple in Sarlebettu, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Manipal police station. It happened while the bus driver was reversing the vehicle. Initial investigations suggest that the driver lost control of the bus, leading to the overturning.
Local residents quickly arrived at the scene and assisted in rescuing the children from the bus. Subsequently, all injured students were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Currently, the Manipal police are conducting an investigation into the incident.
