In an industry that constantly demands reinvention, Amruta Khanvilkar believes versatility is an actor's greatest strength. During her recent Goa schedule, she opened up about experimenting across mediums, embracing change and finding peace in the coastal state she has loved since childhood.

'GOA HAS TRULY GROWN ON ME OVER THE YEARS'

"Goa has truly grown on me over the years," says Amruta, who has been visiting the state since childhood. "Some of my most beautiful memories are connected to this place." What began as a favourite holiday destination has gradually become somewhere she feels completely at home. "Every time I come back, I discover a different side to Goa, yet it always gives me the same feeling of comfort and belonging. It's one of those rare places where I can actually imagine building a life and settling down someday." Someone who has always loved the water, she says Goa's beaches, slower pace of life and sense of serenity make it unlike any other destination.


'EVERY MEDIUM DEMANDS A DIFFERENT VERSION OF YOU'

Amruta believes every platform requires actors to adapt. "Every medium demands a different version of you—whether it's theatre, films, television or OTT. Each one comes with its own rhythm, language and way of storytelling." She adds that the simplest characters are often the hardest to portray because they demand the deepest research and observation to feel authentic.

'VERSATILITY HAS BECOME A NECESSITY'

Amruta believes every platform requires actors to adapt. "Every medium demands a different version of you—whether it's theatre, films, television or OTT. Each one comes with its own rhythm, language and way of storytelling." Interestingly, the roles she finds most challenging are often the simplest ones. "The seemingly ordinary characters demand the deepest research and observation because they have to feel completely real and authentic. There's no room to hide behind larger-than-life moments or dramatic flourishes. I believe portraying simplicity convincingly is one of the greatest challenges for any actor. The simplest roles are the hardest to play," she sums up.
