Nissan officially launched the much-awaited Tekton SUV in the Indian market today. The SUV has been launched at a starting price of Rs 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom). This is the same introductory price as the Renault Duster, and Nissan mentioned that these prices are valid for the first 10,000 customers. The company has already released multiple teaser videos of the Tekton across various social media platforms. As claimed, the SUV looks like a smaller version of the Nissan Patrol.

Bookings for the Nissan Tekton have now commenced, and deliveries will begin from 20 July 2026. Prices for the Nissan Tekton start at Rs 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom) and go all the way up to Rs 18.59 lakh (ex-showroom).

During the presentation, Nissan mentioned that it views India as an important export hub for the brand. The company will manufacture the Tekton in India for both the domestic and international markets. Nissan aims to export the new Tekton SUV to more than 50 countries.

Nissan is offering the Tekton in six monotone and five dual-tone colour options. The monotone colours include Moonbow Grey, Flare Garnet Red, Indigo Blue, Pearl White, Blade Silver, and Onyx Black. The SUV is available in six variants.

The exterior design of the Nissan Tekton is inspired by the Nissan Patrol. The SUV is based on the same R-GMP architecture, and in terms of dimensions, it measures 4,346 mm in length, 1,815 mm in width, and 1,703 mm in height. It also offers a wheelbase of 2,657 mm and a ground clearance of 212 mm. The SUV has also scored 5 star ratings at Bharat NCAP crash test and Nissan is confident that the SUV would get similar scores in Global NCAP too.

At the front, the Nissan Tekton features a wide grille with red accents that divide it into two sections. The Nissan logo sits at the centre, while the SUV gets rectangular all-LED headlamps with 7-shaped dual-function LED DRLs. The Tekton also features a connected LED light bar that runs across the width of the SUV. The bonnet gets Tekton badging and several prominent character lines. Nissan is also offering a C-shaped faux skid plate with integrated LED fog lamps. The front end looks muscular and gives the SUV a strong road presence, successfully justifying the “Baby Patrol” nickname.

The side profile of the SUV looks largely similar to that of the Renault Duster. However, it gets Nissan Patrol-inspired 18-inch machine-cut alloy wheels, thick black cladding around the wheel arches, silver roof rails, chrome garnishes on the front doors similar to the Nissan Patrol, silver accents on the lower section of the doors, and more.

The rear of the Tekton also looks different from the Duster. Nissan has redesigned the tail lamps, which now feature C-shaped LED lighting elements connected by an LED light bar. The tailgate has a muscular design and, just like the front, carries Tekton badging. We also see a silver-coloured skid plate at the rear.

Moving inside, Nissan is offering the Tekton with what it calls “Elevated Interiors.” The SUV comes with a layered dashboard featuring quilted dashboard and door trims. The top-end variant gets a burgundy and rose gold interior theme, which gives the cabin a premium feel. Apart from this, the SUV is available with three additional interior colour themes depending on the variant.

The Tekton comes loaded with features such as dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats, 32 litres of in-cabin storage, a wireless phone charger, a driver-centric touchscreen infotainment system with built-in Google, a fully digital instrument cluster, leatherette upholstery, a multifunction steering wheel, a powered tailgate, paddle shifters, a 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS, rear AC vents, and more. Nissan is also offering over 40 standard safety features across all variants.

The Nissan Tekton will be offered with two turbo-petrol engine options. The first is a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that generates 100 PS and 166 Nm of torque. This engine will be available across all variants and is not limited to the lower trims. It is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and has a claimed fuel efficiency of 19.4 kmpl.

The claimed fuel efficiency stands at 17.8 kmpl for the manual version and 18.5 kmpl for the DCT variant.
