A major political upheaval has been seen in the politics of West Bengal. On one hand, Mamata Banerjee’s troubles are showing no signs of abating, while on the other hand, BJP on Thursday has given a big reward to three former Rajya Sabha MPs who left Trinamool Congress and joined the party.
Let us tell you that Rajya Sabha by-elections are to be held in Bengal on July 24, for which the Central Election Committee of BJP has released the list of three candidates. The special thing is that leaders who rebelled against TMC from Bengal, Sushmita Dev, Sukhendu Shekhar Roy and Prakash Chik Badaik have been declared candidates. These three leaders had joined the party just a few hours ago.
BJP rewarded all three leaders by making them Rajya Sabha candidates
Let us tell you that ever since the three MPs left TMC, there was speculation in the political circles that the three MPs would join BJP. After which the disputes came to an end and all three joined BJP. After this, questions started arising that BJP can make these leaders Rajya Sabha candidates, which also became true. It would not be wrong to say that all three leaders have been rewarded as soon as they joined BJP.
Shock to former CM Mamata Banerjee
Let us tell you that Sushmita Dev, Sukhendu Shekhar Roy and Prakash Chik Badaik have been among the prominent leaders of TMC. First leaving the party of such leaders and then making them Rajya Sabha candidates by BJP is being considered as a big political blow for Mamata Banerjee and TMC.
Political analysts believe that with this step the BJP has indicated that it does not want to be limited to only assembly politics in West Bengal, but is moving forward on the strategy of strengthening its presence and influence in the Rajya Sabha as well.
