Police in Gariaband district, Chhattisgarh, seized one quintal and two kilograms of ganja during a special operation near Jhoriabahara village.

Acting on intelligence, Mainpur police set up a checkpoint along the Odisha–Chhattisgarh border. Officers intercepted a luxury white car and discovered the massive consignment hidden inside.

Police arrested Aryan Malviya and Abhishek Mehaskar, both residents of Madhya Pradesh. Investigators confirmed that the duo was smuggling ganja from Odisha into Madhya Pradesh.

Authorities seized the vehicle along with the contraband. Officials described the bust as a significant success in curbing cross-border drug trafficking.

ASP Karan Yuke of Gariaband stated that the operation reflects the police’s commitment to dismantling smuggling networks operating along the interstate border.

The seizure highlights the growing challenge of narcotics trafficking through Odisha into neighbouring states. Police assured that further investigation will trace the supply chain and identify other members of the network.
