If you are an employee of Haryana Government and live in a government house in Chandigarh, then this news is very important for you. Haryana Government has issued a strict instruction regarding government residences. All government employees will have to compulsorily submit their option or undertaking form for ‘Rooftop Solar Energy System’ by tomorrow i.e. July 10, 2026.
What is the whole matter and why is it important?
Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi has given clear instructions to all the administrative secretaries, department heads and chief administrators of the state to inform the employees working under them about this deadline. Actually, the Central Government is working on the mission of installing 100 percent solar energy in government residential buildings. Under this, the House Allotment Committee of Chandigarh Administration has asked the Haryana Government to take consent from the employees.
What are the options in the form?
Employees will be required to fill out an undertaking form, giving them three key options:
- First option: They can give their consent to use the electricity generated from the solar plant and pay a fixed fee in return.
- Second option: They can also choose not to use this feature.
- Third option: If this rule does not apply to them, they can inform about it.
Do your work on time, otherwise this action will be taken
The House Allotment Committee has warned that if the employee’s form is not received by July 10, 2026, it will be considered as his ‘disagreement’. That means the department will understand that you do not want to use the solar facility. Additionally, employees who opt for solar energy will have to pay electricity charges and also allow entry into their home premises to authorized persons for maintenance of the solar system. Therefore, if you want to avail this facility, then take special care of the time limit.
