Expectations are high as 'Pushpa' star Allu Arjun is teaming up with ' Atlee '. 'Jawan' director has revealed that actress Preity Mukhundhan was among the names he wanted to cast in his upcoming film Raaka . However, the collaboration could not happen because the actress was already occupied with another project. The filmmaker shared the revelation while attending the promotional event of Idhayam Murali . The upcoming film is backed by producer Aakash Baskaran and stars Atharvaa Murali, Preity Mukhundhan, Fahadh Faasil and Kayadu Lohar in key roles. It is scheduled to release in theatres on July 10.

Although Atlee did not directly mention the title of the project, his comments quickly led fans to believe that he was referring to Raaka, his next directorial after the blockbuster Jawan.

Director praises Preity Mukhundhan's talent

During the event, Atlee had nothing but praise for Preity Mukhundhan. Addressing the actress from the stage, he appreciated both her acting and dancing abilities.

As quoted by Hindustan Times, he said, “Preity Mukhundan, I like you a lot. You are amazing. The way you dance, the way you act.”

Scheduling conflicts ended the opportunity

Atlee went on to explain why the collaboration never materialised. According to the director, he had planned to cast Preity in one of his films but had to change those plans because she was already committed elsewhere.

Recalling the incident, he said, “I wanted to cast her in my film, but they told me she’s busy with Akash’s film (Idhayam Murali). I said, okay, maybe another time. You are so humble, you are so workaholic…great, keep going.”

The filmmaker's remarks hinted that he remains interested in working with the actress in the future if schedules align.

Fans link the comments to 'Raaka'

Although Atlee chose not to identify the film, many fans were quick to connect his statement to Raaka. The big-budget sci-fi entertainer stars Allu Arjun in the lead role, while Deepika Padukone headlines the film as the female lead.

Following the event, discussions on social media suggested that Preity may have been considered for an important supporting role instead of the lead. Director has not confirmed the same.

Raaka remains one of the most eagerly awaited Indian films currently under production. The collaboration between Atlee and Allu Arjun has already generated significant excitement among fans.
