Gianni Infantino is enjoying a remarkable summer, crisscrossing North America to attend as many FIFA World Cup 2026 matches as possible.

From Miami to Mexico City, Atlanta to Vancouver, and nearly every stop in between, the FIFA President has visited each of the 16 host stadiums at least once during this summer’s tournament.

With the competition taking its first break today since the opening fixture four weeks ago, it is the perfect moment to total up Infantino’s World Cup appearances so far.

Overall, the FIFA chief has been seen at 37 of the 96 matches played to date — an impressive 38.5 per cent attendance rate.

Travelling aboard his private Gulfstream G650ER jet, Infantino has been moving swiftly between host cities, often managing to attend more than one match in a single day.

For example, on June 23, he was present at England’s goalless draw with Ghana in Boston before flying north to Canada to catch the Panama versus Croatia clash later that same day. This is not an isolated case; he has repeated such multi-match trips several times.

According to reports from UOL, his jet — provided by Qatar Airways, one of the tournament’s official sponsors — has been his main mode of transport across the continent this summer.

Some reports suggest that Infantino even prefers to sleep on board rather than staying in hotels. The aircraft has been modified to include a private office, allowing him to work, rest, and travel all in one space.

The BBC has reported that during the first two weeks of the competition, Infantino’s carbon footprint was equivalent to that of 78 average people over an entire year.

FIFA has confirmed that all of Infantino’s travel expenses during his North American tour are covered by the organisation, with each journey carefully scheduled to maximise his presence at the tournament.

On average, Infantino has attended 1.37 matches per day since the World Cup began. With no more double-match days remaining, it is possible he could attend all eight of the remaining fixtures, potentially bringing his total to 45 matches — a remarkable 43.27% of the 104 total games.
