WhatsApp Green Dot In iPhone: WhatsApp keeps bringing new features for its users so that their chatting experience can become even better. In such a situation, now the company has started testing a new Green Dot feature. With the help of which it will be easier than ever to know whether any of your contacts is currently online or not. For now, this feature has been made available to select iPhone Beta users and in the coming time it will be rolled out to more users.
In the report regarding this, it is being said that when a user is active on WhatsApp, a green dot will appear below his profile photo. This dot will automatically disappear as soon as he goes offline. With this, users will not need to open chat again and again to see someone’s online status.
Currently only Green Dot will be visible on Contact Info screen
For now, WhatsApp has limited this feature to the Contact Info screen. Which simply means that you have to go to any chat and tap on the user’s name or profile photo, only then the Green Dot will appear. However, currently this feature is not visible in the main chat list or chat window. As everyone knows that WhatsApp usually tests any new feature among a limited number of beta users first. If the testing is successful then it is later released for all users.
Earlier, Green Dot feature has also been seen in Android Beta version whereas now it has reached some users using WhatsApp Beta for iOS Version 26.26.10.72.
Will your privacy be affected?
If you are also having questions about privacy regarding this new feature, then it is a matter of relief that WhatsApp has clarified that Green Dot will completely follow your existing privacy settings. If you have hidden your online status from anyone or everyone then they will not even see the Green Dot. Which simply means that this feature does not share any new information but only shows the current online status in a more easy and visual way.
When will all users get it?
Currently the Green Dot feature is in the testing phase. If the company’s testing is successful then it can be released for all users of both Android and iPhone platforms in the coming months. However, WhatsApp has not yet announced its official launch date. In such a situation, users will have to wait for its stable update for now.
