The iPhone Air 2 is being tipped for two major changes: a larger battery and a dual rear camera setup. Leaks suggest Apple is trying to fix the first iPhone Air’s biggest weaknesses while keeping the phone thin and premium-looking.
Camera changes
The most consistent rumor is that the iPhone Air 2 could add a 48MP ultrawide lens alongside a 48MP main camera. That would give the Air lineup much more versatility for everyday photography, especially compared with the single-camera design of the original model.
Some reports also say Apple may keep the horizontal camera bar style, but make it large enough to fit the second lens without making the phone noticeably thicker.
Battery focus
Battery life is another area where the iPhone Air 2 is expected to improve. Reports say Apple is working on a bigger battery and more efficient internals, likely helped by a newer chip and internal redesigns that free up space.
That matters because the original iPhone Air was known more for its slim design than for all-day endurance, so a capacity bump would make the sequel feel far more practical.
What else may change
Leaks also suggest the iPhone Air 2 could use a more efficient A20 Pro-class chip, which should help with performance and power efficiency. Apple may also shrink the Face ID hardware to make room for the extra camera without breaking the thin-phone design language.
Why it matters
If these rumors are accurate, the iPhone Air 2 would be a much more balanced device than the first model. A bigger battery plus dual cameras would directly address the two features most buyers care about in daily use.
