The excitement surrounding Pawan Kalyan 's 'OG 2' has received a fresh boost after music composer Thaman S shared a major update about the much-awaited sequel. While promoting his upcoming film ' Idhayam Murali ', the composer confirmed that the next chapter of the action franchise is set to begin production in September 2026.

The sequel had already been announced by the makers, but this is the first concrete timeline for the commencement of its shoot, much to the delight of Pawan Kalyan's fans.

Thaman S responds to fans with a production updateAccording to Pinkvilla, during a promotional event for 'Idhayam Murali', the audience repeatedly chanted "OG 2", prompting Thaman S to address the anticipation surrounding the sequel. As quoted by M9 News, the composer confirmed that filming for 'OG 2' is scheduled to commence in September 2026.

Although he did not reveal additional details about the cast, storyline or release schedule, his confirmation has intensified the buzz around the project.

Revisiting the world of ' They Call Him OG 'The original film, 'They Call Him OG', follows Ojas Gambheera, popularly known as OG, a former samurai who arrives in India at a young age and eventually becomes the trusted protector of businessman Satyanarayana. As his influence grows across Bombay's underworld, OG transforms into one of the city's most feared figures.

However, circumstances force him into hiding for a decade before he returns in 1993 with one mission: confronting his longtime rival Omi Bhau. The narrative unfolds by exploring the reasons behind OG's disappearance, the origins of his rivalry, and the events that culminate in their intense face-off.

The action drama featured Emraan Hashmi as the primary antagonist, while Priyanka Arul Mohan, Arjun Das, Sriya Reddy and Prakash Raj played pivotal roles. Following its theatrical release, the film received mixed-to-positive reviews before making its digital debut on Netflix.
