The FIFA World Cup 2026 has entered the quarter-final stage, with the remaining eight teams now preparing for their next challenge on football’s biggest stage.

England, after a thrilling 3-2 victory over Mexico at the iconic Azteca Stadium, are set to face Norway and their star striker Erling Haaland this weekend. The Three Lions head into the tie as favourites to reach the semi-finals, yet Norway will approach the match with confidence, having already overcome formidable teams such as Senegal, Ivory Coast, and Brazil earlier in the tournament.

France, one of the tournament favourites, will renew their rivalry with Morocco — the same side they defeated in the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Les Bleus are fully aware that the North Africans will pose a serious challenge when the sides meet on Thursday.

Following their emphatic win over the United States in Seattle, Belgium travel south to Los Angeles to face Spain, who edged past Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal in a tense encounter on Monday.

Defending champions Argentina showcased their resilience with a spirited second-half comeback to beat Egypt 3-2 in a dramatic contest on Tuesday. They will now meet Switzerland, who advanced after eliminating Colombia in a penalty shootout.
