New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has announced casual playing agreements for four white-ball specialists, Finn Allen, Lockie Ferguson, Adam Milne and Tim Seifert, for the 2026-27 season. The new agreements, which will take effect from 1 August, allow the four players to support New Zealand's limited-overs plans while playing franchise cricket across the globe.
Allen, Ferguson and Seifert were already included in the flexible contract system last season, with the addition of the talented quick bowler Adam Milne to the rosters for the 12 months this time around.
The Four Players are expected to be available for New Zealand in the white-ball series against India in October November. The four players are part of New Zealand's long-term planning for the ICC white-ball tournaments at the end of 2027 and 28.
NZC Backs White-Ball Stars Despite Franchise Commitments
Gavin Larsen, the New Zealand selector, has said :
"the four players will be of huge benefit to the New Zealand team in that: 'All four of the players have played a lot of cricket around the globe in franchise competitions and that is a huge advantage for New Zealand' I think it's obvious that the talent and capability all four players have to win games, and they have proven that on many an occasion for the Black Caps. Their ability is highly sought after from around the world, which we take as a good thing because we get to use that knowledge and experience here."
NZC also confirmed that the four players will stay in the nation's high performance programme and will have access to coaching, medical attention, mental skills supporting services and training facilities even though they are no longer on full central contracts.

Tim Seifert Eyes India Series And Future World Cups
Seifert explained.
"Tim Seifert has committed to the Seattle Orcas in the inaugural season of Major League Cricket, guided by the flexibility offered by the casual contract. 'The casual contract gives me a good mixture of international cricket with franchise opportunities."
He added :
"I still love to play cricket for the Black Caps, and it is still my main goal to play for New Zealand and my country. This is great to be able to still do that with the voluntary contract. This means I could still play in various leagues around the world."
On the horizon, Seifert was looking forward to the next New Zealand assignments.
The forthcoming India tour to New Zealand is sure to be a fantastic event, and I can't wait to be part of it. There are also two ICC white-ball World Cups to be played in the upcoming year, so there is some brilliant cricket to enjoy at the moment,
Gavin Larsen has also reaffirmed that all four continue to feature in New Zealand's plans for the white-ball series against India in late 2009.
The New Zealand Cricket (NZC) also revealed modifications to the list of casual contracts awarded last season. Former captain Kane Williamson, who announced international retirement, has been dropped from the list. The central contract players' list announced in June also saw the return of Devon Conway, whereas Kamik Neesham joined the domestic contract given by Auckland Cricket.
The new contracts also reflect NZC's flexible approach to providing players with opportunities to develop in franchise leagues and also be available for All Black duty.
