The FBI indicted gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldie Brar in the murder of Khalistani militant Hardeep Singh Nijjar. A total of 24 arrests were made across North America and Europe as part of a massive international operation led by the FBI.

It is known that 37 people from three criminal groups are involved in this murder. For now, the FBI has arrested 24 accused from California, Indiana, Georgia, Canada, Spain. And among these three groups, the leader of one group is Lawrence Bishnoi. Court documents claim Goldie and Bishnoi ordered Nijjar’s murder. They have a big role behind that murder.

On June 18, 2023, Khalistani leader Nijjar was killed in front of a Gurdwara in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. Relations between India and Canada were also strained over the murder. A few days after the incident, standing in the Canadian Parliament, then Prime Minister Justin Trudeau claimed that India was behind the murder. New Delhi strongly protested such explosive comments. In this situation, in May 2024, Canadian police arrested four Indians and Indian-origins on the charge of Nijjar’s murder. Karan Brar, Amandeep Singh, Kamalpreet Singh and Karanpreet Singh, four Indians accused in Nijjar’s murder, were granted bail shortly afterwards. Later, the report of the Canadian commission made it clear that India had no role in this murder.

The activity of Bishnoi gangs in various anti-social activities like extortion, murder, arms and drug trafficking has been a headache for India for a long time. Lawrence Bishnoi, who is known as the original panda of this group, is mainly based in Canada. They have been accused of threatening and attempting to kill several Bollywood stars including Salman Khan. Lawrence Bishnoi and his team have already been declared a ‘terrorist group’ by Canada’s public safety department.
