Indian energy sector stocks showed a mixed trend in Tuesday’s trading session, with oil marketing companies posting modest gains while several city gas distribution and gas transmission stocks declined. Here’s a detailed look at how energy stocks are performing today on the BSE and NSE.

Market Overview

The S&P BSE Sensex was trading at 78,507.28, up 0.28%, while the Nifty 50 stood at 24,490.85, up 0.25%. The energy sector benchmark, S&P BSE Energywas down 0.25% at 11,414.77, indicating a slightly underperforming session for energy stocks relative to the broader market.

Top Gainers in the Energy Sector

HPCL rose 0.85% to Rs 403.90 on the BSE and 0.91% to Rs 404.00 on the NSE.
Petronet LNG gained 0.85% to Rs 277.85 on the BSE and 1.00% to Rs 278.25 on the NSE.
IOC advanced 0.56% to Rs 142.65 on both exchanges.
BPCL edged up 0.49% to Rs 309.55 on the BSE and 0.37% to Rs 309.30 on the NSE.
Veedol Corporation rose 0.53% to Rs 1,462.60 on the BSE.

Top Losers in the Energy Sector

Gujarat State Petronet led the declines, down 6.84% on the BSE and 7.13% on the NSE.
Confidence Petroleum dropped 3.98% to Rs 70.15 on the BSE.
Deep Industries fell 2.84% to Rs 443.00 on the BSE and 2.71% to Rs 444.05 on the NSE.
Gujarat Gas Company declined 2.11% to Rs 745.60 on the BSE and 2.28% to Rs 743.10 on the NSE.
Inox Green Energy slipped 2.03% to Rs 202.40 on the BSE and 1.92% to Rs 202.71 on the NSE.
