Srinagar. A disappointing news is coming out for Shiva devotees from Amarnath cave. This year, the naturally formed ice Shivalinga in the Amarnath cave has completely melted. Baba Barfani has completely disappeared within just 4 days of the official start of the journey.

Despite the melting of Shivalinga, the largest group left for Amarnath Yatra on Tuesday. This group includes a total of 8,815 devotees including 31 foreign nationals. In the first four days of the yatra, more than 93,000 devotees have visited the sacred cave temple located at an altitude of 3,880 meters in the southern Himalayas.

After this, when the first puja took place on June 29, the size of Shivling at that time was 5 feet.

Scientists are saying that by the time the first puja was organized on June 29, before the formal start of Amarnath Yatra, the size of Himling had reduced to 5 feet due to increase in temperature. After this the yatra started on 3rd July. On this day, the doors of the holy cave were opened for the devotees and the Amarnath Yatra was officially started.

On July 6, Baba Barfani melted up to 90 percent.

Despite the presence of Baba Barfani, there is no decrease in the enthusiasm of the devotees. According to the administration, Amarnath Yatra will continue as per its scheduled schedule. Even after the immersion of Shivalinga in the cave, devotees will be able to visit the holy cave and seek blessings. Experts believe that this time Barfani Baba has disappeared so quickly due to the increased temperature in the area and the heat generated due to the huge crowd of devotees around the cave.
