Film producer Juhi Shakya has been appointed Maharashtra State Vice President of the Environment Forest Climate Change Commission (EFCCC) under the Department of Environment and Pollution Safety. Known for producing the feature film Kuka is Money Cash and supporting several Gujarati films, Shakya now steps into a leadership role focused on environmental awareness, climate action and sustainable development.

According to EFCCC officials, she will help strengthen environmental outreach, promote climate awareness initiatives and encourage collaboration between policymakers, industry stakeholders and local communities across Maharashtra.
“Environmental challenges require collective action and strong public participation. Juhi Shakya's ability to connect with people from different walks of life makes her a valuable addition to our leadership team. We believe her contribution will help further our mission of creating a cleaner, greener and more environmentally responsible Maharashtra,” an EFCCC official said.

Accepting the appointment, Shakya highlighted the need for collective action on environmental issues. "I am deeply honoured to be entrusted with this responsibility. Protecting the environment is not just the duty of governments or institutions—it is a collective commitment that every citizen must embrace.
