  • Curd – half cup
  • Water – 1 cup
  • Onion – 1 finely chopped
  • Tomato – 1 finely chopped
  • Green chillies – 3 to 4 finely chopped
  • Capsicum – 1 finely chopped
  • Carrot – 1 finely chopped
  • Green coriander – 2 teaspoons
  • Black pepper or red chili powder – half teaspoon
  • Salt – as per taste
  • Baking soda – a little
  • Ghee or oil – as per need

Easy method to make Vegetable Uttapam

First of all, add semolina, curd and water in a big vessel and mix well. Keep this mixture covered for about 20 minutes, so that the semolina swells properly.

While the batter is being prepared, finely chop onion, tomato, capsicum, carrot, green chilli and green coriander.

Now add salt to the semolina solution and mix well. If the batter seems too thick then add some water to make it a little thicker than the dosa batter. After this add a little baking soda to it and mix it.

How to cook delicious uttapam on pan

Heat a non-stick or iron pan and apply some ghee or oil on it. Now with the help of a ladle, pour the batter on the pan and give it a round shape with light hands. Spread all the chopped vegetables over it and press them lightly, so that the vegetables stick well to the uttapam. Now cook it on low flame. When the uttapam becomes golden from the bottom side, turn it and cook it well from the other side also.

Serve hot with chutney

Your delicious and healthy vegetable uttapam is ready. Serve it hot with coconut chutney, sambar, tomato chutney or green chutney.

This breakfast is not only great in taste but also helps in keeping the stomach full for a long time. This can be a perfect healthy option to start the morning.
