Nottingham Forest have officially announced the appointment of Oliver Glasner as their new head coach.
The Austrian manager enjoyed an impressive spell at Crystal Palace, where he guided the club to remarkable success by winning the FA Cup, the UEFA Conference League, and the Community Shield during a period of just over two seasons with the Eagles.
Despite Palace’s desire to keep Glasner at Selhurst Park, they were unable to persuade him to extend his stay. He now takes charge at Nottingham Forest, succeeding Vítor Pereira, who had been instrumental in securing and maintaining the club’s Premier League status.
Speaking after his appointment, the 51-year-old expressed his enthusiasm for the new challenge. “I’m delighted to join Nottingham Forest as head coach,” Glasner said.
“From my very first discussions with the owner and the leadership team, it became clear that there is a well-defined vision for this football club, along with complete trust and belief in me and my staff to build a strong future together over the long term. That shared commitment, combined with the potential I see within the squad, played a major role in my decision. I’m excited about what we can achieve together.”
He continued, “Nottingham Forest is a club rich in history and tradition, a two-time European Champion with one of the most passionate fan bases in football. Our aim is to develop a team capable of elevating the club to the next level in the years ahead, and one that our supporters can take pride in.”
“My immediate focus will be on meeting the players and staff and getting to work as pre-season begins. I’m looking forward to the future and will give my all to represent this great club with pride and bring success on the pitch. I can’t wait to get started.”
Nottingham Forest will begin their 2026/27 Premier League campaign with a home fixture against Leeds United.
