6 Dead In Mankhurd House Collapse Amid Heavy Downpour; More Casualties Feared

At least six people were killed after a portion of a ground-plus-three (G+3) chawl building collapsed in Mumbai's Mankhurd area on Sunday evening.

The incident occurred at around 8.30 pm in the Janta Nagar locality, behind the Hanuman Temple in Mankhurd.

According to preliminary information, parts of two to three houses in Chawl No. 5 collapsed.

Fire brigade personnel, police, officials from the concerned departments and 108 ambulance services rushed to the spot. A search and rescue operation is currently underway.

According to hospital authorities, five people, four women and one man, were declared dead at Shatabdi Hospital, while one man died and another sustained injuries at Rajawadi Hospital, taking the death toll to six.
