Valentina Cervantes has firmly stated that there is no intention for Enzo Fernandez and his family to move away from England, despite ongoing speculation linking the Chelsea midfielder with Real Madrid. She mentioned that the family is content and well-settled in London, with their children attending school there, while downplaying any talk of an imminent transfer.
Cervantes emphasised that the family is happy in England and that Fernandez has no plans to leave Chelsea, even as rumours continue to circulate about interest from Real Madrid. In her conversation with El Chiringuito, she reiterated that their son was born in England and their children study there. Fernandez, who joined Chelsea from Benfica for a British-record transfer fee, remains under contract until June 2032, making any potential move highly unlikely.
Addressing the speculation, Cervantes made it clear that she is content with their life in England and rejected claims that Fernandez wishes to leave the club. “No, honestly, everything is fine,” she said. “My son was born in England and they go to school there, so I’m very happy. Any team is fine for me. Whatever the team, I’ll be fine.”
When asked if joining Real Madrid would be considered a dream move, Cervantes replied, “No, for me all teams are the same.”
Despite repeated reports linking Fernandez with Real Madrid, Chelsea currently hold a strong position. The long-term contract and the club’s firm stance on retaining the Argentine midfielder make any transfer challenging to execute.
Speculation intensified following comments attributed to Javier Pastore, who suggested that Fernandez had considered options beyond Stamford Bridge and might be open to joining a club like Real Madrid. However, Pastore also noted that Fernandez’s immediate priority remains with the Argentina national team.
At present, Fernandez’s focus is firmly on his international duties with Argentina, who are set to face Egypt in the World Cup round of 16 on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Real Madrid have issued an official statement confirming that there are no ongoing negotiations with Chelsea regarding Fernandez’s transfer.
