Knews Desk- Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) celebrated its 30th foundation day on Sunday, July 5. Established in the year 1997, this party has completed a journey of three decades. On this occasion, party founder and former Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav issued a detailed message to the people of Bihar, party workers and supporters. Describing RJD’s 30 years of political journey as a symbol of social justice, struggle and public interest politics, he wished the workers on their Foundation Day. He also made a scathing attack on the Central Government and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) regarding the current political situation.

In his message, Lalu Yadav said that July 5 is a historic day for the politics of Bihar. He said that Rashtriya Janata Dal was established in 1997 with the aim of strengthening the fight for the rights of the poor, exploited, backward, Dalits, minorities and deprived classes. According to him, this was not just the beginning of a political party, but a historic moment that changed the direction of the politics of Bihar and the country.

Lalu Yadav described the party’s three-decade journey as a journey of struggle, sacrifice and social change. He said that thousands of RJD workers and crores of supporters have strengthened the party through service, dedication and sacrifice. He said that the expansion of the party has not been possible due to the efforts of any one person, but due to the blood and sweat of the grassroots workers and the trust of the public. Expressing his gratitude towards all the leaders, workers and supporters, he said that their hard work has continuously taken RJD forward.

He said that RJD’s politics has always been committed to raising the voice of the poor, farmers, labourers, backward classes, Dalits and minorities. Even in the changing political times, the basic objective of the party is to eliminate social and economic inequality and ensure equal opportunities in the society. Lalu Yadav said that his concept of development is not limited to just big airports, luxurious malls and gleaming buildings, but his priority is to extend the benefits of development to the last person of the society.

On the occasion of Foundation Day, Lalu Yadav also expressed concern over the current political situation of the country. He alleged that pressure on the democratic system is continuously increasing and the influence of capital is becoming a serious challenge to democracy. He said that today the situation is such that with the power of capital, efforts are being made to buy not only the voters but also the elected representatives. According to him, pressure on democratic institutions, increasing market interference and money power politics are weakening the basic spirit of democracy.

Taking aim at BJP, Lalu Yadav said that the electoral developments in many states in recent years indicate that efforts are being made to weaken democratic values ​​by misusing constitutional institutions. He alleged that dictatorial tendencies are being promoted by ignoring the spirit of the Constitution. He also said that efforts are being made to hide issues like backward class participation, education, employment, protection of minorities and social justice behind religious and ideological debates.

Lalu Yadav called upon the party workers to unite and be prepared for the coming political struggle. He said that Rashtriya Janata Dal is not just a party contesting elections, but a movement for social change. The workers will have to strengthen the confidence of the people by reaching out to every section of the society and raise their issues effectively from the streets to the Parliament.

At the end of his message he said that the coming time is the fight to protect social justice, constitution and democracy. Forgetting small political disagreements and personal differences, all progressive and democratic forces will have to unite.
