Tezzbuzz Desk- Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has given big relief to Aadhaar card holders. Now an important facility to Aadhaar has been made completely free till 31 December 2026. This decision will directly benefit crores of users and they will not have to visit Aadhar Seva Kendras.
Which service became free?
According to the new update of UIDAI, now updating email ID in Aadhar card will be completely free. Earlier one had to pay around Rs 75 + GST for this service, but now this work can be done without any cost through the mobile app.
Email update will be done easily sitting at home
UIDAI has made the Aadhaar mobile app more user-friendly, so that people can update many information to their Aadhaar sitting at home. These also include updating the email ID.
This facility will save time, reduce crowd at Aadhaar centres, and the process will be completely digital and easy.
Why is it important to update email ID?
In today’s digital age, email ID has become an important identity. It is widely used in banking, insurance, government schemes and online verification. If Aadhaar does not have the correct email link, many important alerts and updates may not be received on time.
Free facility till 31 December 2026
UIDAI has clarified that this free service will be available till 31 December 2026. During this period, any Aadhaar holder can update his email ID without any charges.
How to update email from Aadhaar App?
Easy Steps:
- Download UIDAI’s official Aadhaar App in your mobile
- Login with Aadhaar number
- Complete face authentication or verification
- Go to “Update Email” option
- Enter and confirm new email ID
- submit request
After this you will get a Service Request Number (SRN) You will get it, through which you can track the status of your update.
This new initiative of UIDAI is a big step towards making Aadhaar services more digital, easy and accessible. The free email update facility till December 31, 2026 will not only provide financial relief to common citizens, but the processes to Aadhaar will also become faster and convenient.
