UPTET 2026: The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test was successfully conducted on July 2, 3, and 4. The written examinations for the Primary (Classes 1 to 5) and Upper Primary (Classes 6 to 8) levels concluded peacefully and transparently under strict supervision. Out of a total of 1,994,661 registered candidates, 1,770,714 appeared for the exam, resulting in an overall attendance of 88.77 percent.

How many candidates appeared for the Upper Primary level exam?
According to the commission, the Upper Primary level (Classes 6 to 8) exam was conducted during both shifts on July 2 and the first shift on July 3. A total of 1,211,459 candidates were registered for this, of whom 1,057,055 appeared for the exam. The overall attendance at this level was 87.25 percent. Female candidate attendance for the Upper Primary level exam was recorded at 87.00 percent.

How many candidates appeared for the Primary level exam?
The Primary level (Classes 1 to 5) exam was conducted during the second shift on July 3 and the first shift on July 4. A total of 783,202 candidates were registered for this, of whom 713,659 participated in the exam. Attendance at this level was 91.12 percent. Female candidate attendance for the Primary level exam was 90.85 percent.

Exam held at 955 centers during the first shift on July 4
The commission stated that the exam was conducted at 955 centers across the state during the first shift on July 4, from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM. A total of 379,316 candidates were registered for this shift, of whom 334,775 appeared for the exam. Attendance for this shift was 88.00 percent.

How many impersonators (fake candidates) were caught in UPTET? To oversee the examination, the Commission appointed members as well as retired IAS and IPS officers as observers across all 60 districts. Additionally, continuous monitoring of all examination centers was conducted via the Commission's AI-integrated control and command room. Candidate activities were also monitored through AI-enabled cameras installed at the centers.

According to the Commission, AI-based software assisted in document verification, leading to the apprehension of 44 impersonators over three days who were taking the exam on behalf of other candidates.

14 impersonators were caught on July 2.
11 impersonators were caught on July 3.
19 impersonators were caught on July 4.

Furthermore, on July 3, a candidate was caught attempting to cheat using a mobile phone inside the examination hall. In all these cases, the Commission has handed the concerned individuals over to the local police and initiated legal proceedings.

**A Transparent and Malpractice-Free Examination**
The Commission stated that the examination was conducted transparently, securely, on schedule, and free from malpractice across the entire state. The district administration, police administration, Vigilance Department, and Special Task Force (STF) contributed to the successful conduct of the exam. The Commission also expressed its gratitude to all candidates, center superintendents, observers, and administrative officials.
