Bollywood Updates
The pair of Rajkumar Hirani and Arshad Warsi, who won the hearts of the audience in ‘Munnabhai MBBS’ about 20 years ago, has come together once again. This time he has appeared in front of the audience not on the big screen, but through Jio Hotstar’s new web series ‘Pritam and Pedro’. This series is a mixture of suspense, comedy and cyber crime, which tries to keep the audience engaged from the beginning till the end.
Story of Pritam and Pedro
The story of this series revolves around two people with opposite views. On one side is Pedro, who is a traditional police officer and relies on his experience more than technology to solve crimes. On the other side is Pritam, who is an expert in the technical and cyber world. Both of them meet at a juncture where they are forced to work together. Gradually this partnership turns into friendship and both try to get to the bottom of a big and dangerous case.
beginning of the story
In the first episode of the series ‘Punishment Posting’, it is shown that Pedro is transferred to the cyber cell after an incident. Pedro, unaware of the world of cyber crime, finds himself uncomfortable there and tries to somehow return back to the crime branch.
exciting twist
The second episode ‘The Missing Boy’ deals with the sudden disappearance of an influential minister’s son. This is the case where Pedro and Pritam start working as a team for the first time.
In the third episode ‘Blackmail’, a phone call comes from the kidnapper. Pritam and Pedro use both technology and experience to try to track down the culprit, but things are not that simple.
The series touches on a serious social issue in the fourth episode, ‘The Blue Whale’, which looks at the impact of the infamous online game that took the lives of several children.
In the fifth episode ‘Catch Me If You Can’, the case is not just about kidnapping of a child, but the real target of the criminal is Pritam.
Vikrant Massey’s influence
The last episode ‘The Trap’ sees the entry of Vikrant Massey, who plays an intelligent and dangerous character named Martin. The old enmity between him and Pritam turns out to be the biggest mystery of this series.
Pair of Arshad Warsi and Veer Hirani
Arshad Warsi, in his old style, seems successful in making the audience laugh and connect emotionally. Veer Hirani has also tried to impress in the role of Pritam. The chemistry between the two keeps the series light-hearted and entertaining.
Cameo and fun
Actors like Boman Irani, Mona Singh and Rajesh Sharma are seen in important roles in the series. Apart from this, the audience will also get to see the cameos of Virender Sehwag and Sanjay Dutt, which adds a surprise element to the story.
What should be seen?
If you like stories based on suspense, light comedy and cyber crime, then ‘Pritam and Pedro’ can be a good choice for you. A balanced mix of thrill, emotion and entertainment is seen in the series. Although the story slows down a bit at some places, its twists and the acting of the actors succeed in keeping the audience engaged till the end.
