Amitabh Bachchan on Bollywood Career: Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan is still counted among the busiest and active actors of the film industry. Even after crossing the age of 80, he is continuously active in films, TV shows and other projects. Along with this, Big B also remains connected with fans through social media and his personal blog. He often shares interesting stories to his career, personal experiences and life.
Meanwhile, a new blog of Amitabh Bachchan has become a topic of discussion. In this blog, while remembering the initial days of his film career, he said that there was a time when he was working in 10 to 15 films simultaneously. He said that he did not do this for fame or to earn more money, but there was a different reason behind it. Recalling his days of struggle, Big B also said that at that time he was always afraid that if he left work, he might not get work again.
The hard work of the new era artists is highly appreciated.
While sharing some old pictures in his blog, Amitabh Bachchan also expressed his opinion on the changing method of preparation of actors in today’s film industry. He wrote that today before playing any character in films, actors work deeply on every aspect of it. Be it the character’s look, body language, style of speaking or his mentality, everything is prepared months in advance.
‘There was no word like prep in our times’
Amitabh wrote, “Today, prep has become very important in films. There was no such word as prep in our era. Today’s actors work harder than before to understand their character, its look, style and thinking. I see how much dedication and hard work today’s actors put in to completely adapt to their role. This is really praiseworthy.” He believes that the current generation of artists are very serious about their work and this change is positive for the industry.
‘In our times there was no time for so much preparation’
Amitabh Bachchan further wrote that the way actors get a long time for a character today, it was not possible in his era. He said, “Preparing for the character is a very important part of acting. I wholeheartedly appreciate the actors who give so much time and effort for it. But it was not easy to do all this in our times.” He told that in that era, actors used to shoot several films simultaneously, so it was almost impossible to prepare for months separately for each character.
‘Had to go to the sets of two-three films in a single day’
Referring to his busy schedule, Big B said that he was working in 10 to 15 films at a time. He wrote, “We used to be shooting 10 to 15 films simultaneously. Many times we had to go to the sets of two or three films in the same day. We had to shoot one film in the morning, another film in the afternoon and work on the third set in the evening. In such a situation, it was not possible to prepare separately for each character.” He said that at that time the actors had to immediately get into their character as soon as they reached the set and give their best performance in front of the camera.
‘If you don’t do the work, will you get it again or not?’
Amitabh Bachchan also shared the struggle and feeling of insecurity of that period in his blog. He wrote, “People often asked me how I managed to get into so many different characters in different films in a single day. I used to just tell them that if I didn’t get work, I was afraid of not knowing whether I would get work in the future or not.” He told that at that time every new project was a responsibility for him and he tried to fulfill it with complete honesty.
‘I myself was excited when the film was released’
Amitabh Bachchan told that due to continuously shooting for different films, sometimes even he himself could not remember what work he had done in which film. He wrote, “We were so busy shooting continuously that after months, when the film was released, we ourselves would be excited about what we have done on screen and how it looks.” According to him, at that time artists did not have much time to see and analyze their work.
